![]() Group Runs/Walks Click here for a great article from Runner's World about the importance of the long run Runners and Walkers of All Paces are Welcome! All group training runs and walks start right on time, so plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to ask questions about the route, find a running partner, warm up, or socialize. Mondays Time: 6:00 p.m. Location: On A Shoestring, 3633 Cortez Rd W, Bradenton, FL 34210 Run details: click here Walking / Running for Fun. This weekly FUN event starts and finishes at the store where free REFRESHMENTS ARE PROVIDED! Restrooms and changing rooms are available, along with gear check to secure your keys at the store. All ages, abilities, and paces are welcome! Nationally certified coaches along with shoe experts are available to answer questions about training, racing, shoes, and more. The second Monday of every month will feature the BRC's own USATF level 2 and RRCA certified coach, Rae Ann Darling Reed. She will lead a short warm up/instructional session as well as offer training, racing, and injury prevention tips. Route: Varies - walk or run whatever distance is right for you. Tuesdays BRC Time: 6:00 p.m. Location: Meet in front of the downtown Bradenton branch of the Manatee County Library, 1301 Barcarrota Blvd W (1st Ave W), Bradenton, FL 34205 This is the club's largest training run and your best bet to find someone who runs or walks your pace. Certified coaches are almost always in attendance to answer training and racing questions. Restrooms and water fountains are available in the library or Police station. Many go out to dinner after the run. Route: 2.7 to 6 mile routes are available. Thursdays West Time: 5:45 p.m. Location: G.T. Bray's 51st Street Park, 51st Street W at 29th Ave W, 34209 Enter G.T. Bray's 51st Street Park from 51st Street West - same entrance as dog park Run details: click here (check schedule before coming out) Distances vary from week to week. We focus on tempo run paces and speed work for 400 meter, 800 meter, 1000 meter, 1 mile, & 2 mile repeats. Rae Ann Darling Reed is a USATF level 2 and RRCA certified coach who will be there to offer customized warm ups and workouts based on your current fitness level for just $5 per person. But there is no obligation - the coaching service is optional and offered at a special discount for BRC members. If you prefer, just come train with a group and do your own thing. Train faster to race faster! Important Notes: Please bring a beach towel and your own water. East Time: 6:00 p.m. Location: Fit2Run, 8123 Cooper Creek Blvd., University Park, FL 34201 Run details: click here $25 Fit2Run gift card FREE after 10 runs completed. Be the first to see and demo some of the newest running footwear and apparel as it is released. Meet vendor reps throughout the year. Ask questions and even request specific product for special sizes! Receive a FREE smoothie from the in-house juice bar after each run. Meet our staff pedorthist who can help get runners fitted into the right footwear based on gait and stride. Suggestions welcomed for weekly route choices. Saturdays West BRC Time: 8:00 a.m. Location: Last entrance to Coquina beach on the west side just before the bridge to Longboat Key. Meet in the parking lot near pavilion/restrooms. Route: Run around Coquina beach area. Routes of 3 to 8 miles are available. Sundays West BRC Time: 7:00 a.m. Location: Meet in the middle of the parking lot behind Café on the Beach at the Manatee County public beach. Head West on SR 64 [Manatee Ave W] and park in the beach parking lot. This is another of the club's larger training groups and a good opportunity to find a running partner for a longer run. Certified coaches are almost always in attendance to answer training and racing questions. Many go out to breakfast after the run. Restrooms, water fountains, and beach showers are available. Route: The whole route is on Anna Maria Island with beautiful beach and Gulf views and BRC provided water/sports drink stops. Routes of 3, 6, 9, & 11 miles are available. Please support our
