LOCATION:
Emerson Point Park, Snead Island
Palmetto, FL 34221
DIRECTIONS:
From I-75 (North or South):
Take exit 224 and take 301 south towards Palmetto. Continue west on US 301 [10th St W] crossing both US 41 and Bus 41 through Palmetto. In Palmetto, US 301 becomes 10th Street. Continue on 10th Street west to Snead Island. Just after the bridge turn right (in front of the Bradenton Yacht Club) onto Tarpon Road. Go north one block to 17th Street and turn left. Parking will be on your left along with packet pick-up and race day registration. From there, the start is about a half mile west – a nice warm up jog.
From Sarasota or Siesta Key (South of Palmetto):
Take US 41 north (stay in right lane once you have passed Bahia Vista Street) until you reach the US 41 / US 301 split at Sarasota Ford (also called Washington Blvd). Bear right onto US 301 north to Palmetto. US 301 becomes 1st Street in Bradenton, but continue heading north over the bridge to Palmetto. After you cross over the Manatee River you are in Palmetto. Shortly after the Manatee Civic Center take the exit (from right lane) at US 301. At the end of the ramp go left towards downtown Palmetto. This is 10th Street. Continue on 10th Street west to Snead Island. Just after the bridge turn right (in front of the Bradenton Yacht Club) onto Tarpon Road. Go north one block to 17th Street and turn left. Parking will be on your left along with packet pick-up and race day registration. From there, the start is about a half mile west – a nice warm up jog.
From St. Pete (North of Palmetto):
Take the Sunshine Skyway Bridge over Tampa Bay. The Sunshine Skyway is officially I-275 and US 19. After crossing the Skyway, keep to the right and take US 19 south toward Palmetto and Bradenton. Shortly US 19 merges with US 41 and continues south. In a mile or so, stay to the right and follow Business 41 into Palmetto. Turn right at 10th Street in Palmetto. Continue on 10th Street west to Snead Island. Just after the bridge turn right (in front of the Bradenton Yacht Club) onto Tarpon Road. Go north one block to 17th Street and turn left. Parking will be on your left along with packet pick-up and race day registration. From there, the start is about a half mile west – a nice warm up jog.

The Cause: |
The Manatee River Run is the annual fundraiser for the Bradenton Runners Club. Proceeds from this event will enable us to continue our annual scholarship awards to graduating Manatee County high school distance runners and to upgrade our equipment, which is essential in supporting fundraising for the following groups in conducting their races: Manatee High School Cross Country Team - Canes Classic 5K, The Arthritis Foundation - Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis 5K, Manatee County Nursery Schools, Inc. - Island Run 5K (Build a Better Kid), Family Resources - Run for Runaways 5K, The DeSoto Heritage Festival - DeSoto Heritage Festival 5K, and many more. The 5 Mile Course: |
The 5 mile course consists of a combination of paved road and hard packed shell trail through Emerson Point Park.
Sanctioned by Bradenton Runners Club and insured by RRCA.
SAFETY GUIDELINES:
No headphones, baby joggers or strollers, bicycles, skateboards, skates, or dogs. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. It is our goal to provide everyone with a fun and safe event.
